Senior Congress leader SRA Rizwi Chabban, who recently toured different districts of Kolhan Division, has said that cyclone Phailin has compounded the plight of flood victims in East Singhbhum, West Singhbhum and Seraikela Kharswan district. The administration is yet to take steps for relief.
“I went to Katki village in Seraikela Kharswan, where the farmers complained that they have not received crop insurance cover as of now. I would like to request the Chief Minister to take immediate steps to expedite the relief operations in several affected areas,” said Chabban.
“During my visit I found the relief operations poor, no control room was set up and there was poor coordination with the administration which was fully involved in salvaging the victims,” noted Chabban.
