Chief Minister Raghubar Das, once again, asked his Cabinet Ministers and officials of various departments on Thursday to work hard with dedication in order to accelerate development process in the State.

In a review meeting of the programmes and plans, which were to be completed during 1,000 days of his tenure in the State, Das warned so called non-performing officials either to deliver, or face dismissal. At the same time, he has asked officials to come up with recommendation within 15 days of all irrelevant laws of their departments, so that they could be removed for good.

“Ministers and officials who collectively form Team Jharkhand will have to accelerate development in the State, as people want fast-paced development. NITI Ayog has acknowledged development works in Jharkhand, saying that the State was only behind Gujarat in terms of GDP rate. We have to eliminate poverty and create umbrella schemes for well-being of the poor in the State,” the CM told the officials.

He, however, warned the non-performing officials in the State headquarters and also those executing plans on ground levels to start delivering, or get ready for dismissal.

He said that anyone deliberately sitting on any of the files will be punished. The CM has also directed not to sit in offices anymore, but to visit the fields and use technological advancements as much as possible.

“Blessing us with majority for the first time after formation of the State is itself a testimony from people of the kind of development they want from us.

Development stories being written by us will only direct our efforts to more transparent and accountable governance,” added the CM where ministers, Chief Secretary, Additional Chief Secretaries, Principal Secretaries and Secretaries, DGP and other officials were present. The CM also asked officials to implement the file tracking system so that those sitting on files would be identified and punished.

In the review meeting where all the departments presented status reports of the programmes to be completed by September 22 this year which marks 1,000 days of the Raghubar Das government, Development Commissioner Amit Khare said that 114 plans out of 142 announced in this year’s budget had been completed and rest would be completed by October this year.
