Hundreds of local residents on Saturday blocked Jharia- Sindri road along with body of businessman Ranjeet Saw demanding arrest of murderers .
They also burnt tyres to vent the anger against police that according to them has failed in controlling crime besides safety and security of victims' families.
Ranjeet , a well known dealer of tyres was shot dead on Friday evening in his show room by unknown assailants who had entered the shop as customers and within minutes of entering opened fire on Ranjeet from point blank range killing the businessman on spot. All three bullets were fired at the victim's head and had escaped on a two wheeler.
Police had recovered three used cartridges from the incident site.
On Saturday while people were holding a road blockade Sindri DSP AK Pandey reached the spot and held discussions with the agitators that also included family members of the victim .
He also got the family of the victim to have telephonic talks with SSP Sanjeev Kumar .SSP assured for providing a bodyguard to the victim's brother besides arrest of the accused within 72 hours.
After this the blockade was lifted after about six hours and the body was taken for cremation.
