Health Minister Ramchandra Chandravanshi said while inaugurating these services that the largest Government-run hospital was committed to provide best health services under one roof, and shortcomings and inconveniences were being resolved at fast pace.

Replying to a question about when Sadar Hospital was going to be functional, the Minister said that newly constructed hospital was ready to be inaugurated with limited beds. “We are planning to inaugurate a portion of hospital with 200 bed capacity on tentative date of last Saturday of this month. The hospital will be run by Civil Surgeon and their team only, for which we are in the process of recruitment of medical and para-medical staff,” said the Minister.

The OTs inaugurated on the day includes two each for Neuro-Surgery and ENT departments. Chandravanshi also inaugurated Sample Collection Centre, Hemophilia Day Care Centre which has been established by Hemophilia Federation India (HFI) under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme, shelter for attendants of patients and passage way for OPD.

“Patients had to visit different departments for pathology tests recommended to them at OPD so far, and they also had to face blood test at different departments. Moreover, they were destined to repeat the drill of going to all the departments for report collection. But new sample collection centre inaugurated today has addressed the long awaited issue. Now patients will have to come at only this collection centre for all the tests which will remain functional during 9 am-5pm during all working days, and they will get all the reports from here itself,” said Chandravanshi.

Modular OTs would help getting infection rate in OT area and during the process considerably down as walls and doors of all the Modular OTs have come antibiotic paste coated. Even the gates of OTs have been kept automatic with no physical handling, so that the infection possibility reduces in the area. Ranchi MP Ramtahal Choudhary, Kanke MlA Dr Jeetu Charan Ram, Additional Chief Secretary (Health) Sudhir Tripathi, RIMS Director Bl Sherwal and other officials of RIMS were also present on the occasion.

Tripathi admitted that the hospital, only hope of millions in State, had been facing various hurdles until recently. “But we have been continuously working to keep those hurdles away and providing best of the services to the patients. The government is committed to upgrade the hospital to its best, and we will keep working on providing best services to the patients,” said Tripathi.

On issues pertaining to irregularities by Medal Pathological test centre, Tripathi said that Medal was assigned for tests as an alternative to patients. “Patients must have various alternatives and they are not compelled to go through pathology tests from Medal itself. However, we are always ready to take action against the agency once we come across any irregularity supported by documentary proof,” said Tripathi.
