Volunteers of Paradise, a group of self-motivated individuals involved in philanthropic activities, visited the Association for Social and Human Awareness (ASHA), an NGO in Ranchi and set up a computer lab for 60-odd girls being educated and rehabilitated by ASHA.

At least eight computers, inverter and battery and printers were installed in the facility, the volunteers said. The total project cost was around Rs.1.60 lakh, which was collected through donation from various members of the Paradise group. The money was collected through online payment modes in order to ensure that no unaccounted money is used for the purpose of helping the underprivileged.

ASHA is located in Bhusur village where 60 children stay. All the children were rescued from the shackles of child labour. In October 2011, these children were brought to the Bhusur Center and they were enrolled in schools.

This institution, with its name in mind, really gives hope to the way this institution works for the poor needy children from far flung villages whose parents migrate from villages for lack of basic facilities for employment, Paradise volunteers said.

In the difficult times of the Covid-19 pandemic, when computers became an essential item for studies, Paradise was approached by ASHA for setting up a computer lab in the shelter home.
