A girl was force to marry the person who raped her in Bokaro district on Thursday afternoon. The Panchayat of Akhil Bhartiya Bawri Samaj Kalayan ordered the victim to do so.
The ceremony was arranged at Ram Mandir where Ram Kishan Bawari and Geeta Kumari tied the knot. Besides others, more then 50 panchyat members and parents of the two were present.
Geeta is a resident of Satanpur village and was allegedly raped on Sunday when she was on her way to home. Suddenly two youths of her village Ram Kishan and Gopal Kumar stopped her and asked for a lift.
later they took him in a school building and Ram raped her while Gopal guarded them. On Monday panchayat asked the girl and her family to keep quiet and offered Rs 20,000 to hush up the matter. But Geeta lodged an FIR at local police station on Tuesday and stated that she was raped by Ram. later, again Panchayat intervened and matter got solved by the decision of their marriage.
