The construction of a road in Naxal-hit Palamu is underway for 4 years but is still far from completion said BJP leader RK Kishore.
The 18 km stretch from Paton Nawa Jaipur to Padma is dotted with extremism. The cost of construction of the road is estimated about Rs 19 crores — a little over Rs 1 crore per kilometer.
The BJP leader has raised questions about this road’s quality too and alleged the quality has been severely compromised with as a result its wear and tear will set in quick than one expects. Sources said if this road gets completed it will be a great relief to the administration in this coming Assembly election when troops, poll personnel can be easily transported through this route for booths falling under Paton and Manatu segments.
The BJP leader has urged the executive engineer PWD Road to expedite the work and also to ensure quality construction of this vital road passing through the citadel of the extremists.
