A veteran criminal of Palamu Dilip Sharma alias Mukhiya alias Dhoni alias Ameet Singh who temporarily settled in UP, when a team of Palamu police officials led by IPS probationer Aman Kumar SDPO Hussainabad Manoj Kumar and others caught him on Tuesday and remanded himin judicial custody on Wednesday April 13. He had planned to leave India for Bahrain to run his under world from there.
SP Palamu Patel Mayur K lal lauded the efforts of the IPS probationer Aman and SDPO Manoj, as they cracked such a high profile case of a Palamu criminal in their first go. Police seized a passport of this Sharma but in the name of Ameet Singh with address in UP. The passport was issued from lucknow based regional office. Patel Mayur said Sharma obtained the passport with the help of Adhar Card, Voter Card, Driving licence and 4 bank accounts along with three ATMS all in his fake name of Ameet Singh in which this shrewd criminal changed his father’s name too.
Patel Mayur said Sharma ‘s brother Dasrath lives in Bahrain and this shrewd criminal wanted to exploit this foreign jaunt. Sharma used to make internet calling for extortion. An in this game his Bahrain brother helped him by recharging his internet in Bahrain itself as Sharma had installed a software in his cell phone here which was recharged from Bahrain. Police would slap sections of cyber crime act too against Sharma.
Patel Mayur said Sharma is such a criminal who used to ring up police officers in Palamu owning responsibility of the crime that he used to commit. Sharma used to ring up local scribes also before the commission of crime asking the scribes to spare space in the newspapers for his crime added SP.
Twelve cases and 14 member gang this is Sharma’s crime power and sheet. Patel Mayur said police are to find out his UP connection as to why he after all chose UP’s Sonebhadra district to settle there temporarily. Sonebhadra district is the adjoining one of Palamu perhaps he guessed.
Sharma made extortion calls through this Bahrain connected internet software and as such his number remained untraced for a longer time. IPS probationer Aman Kumar followed Sharma’s minute details and gathered all intelligence about him that led to his nabbing.
Sharma served as a driver for an SDPO Hussainabad ( now retired) police said Patel Mayur and here as driver of a SDPO Sharma learnt the finer points of any commission of crime as this driver must be a privy to the conversations that the said SDPO used to have with his officials on cell phone or when travelling together in a vehicle.
Sharma would face sections of Passport Act besides sections pertaining to heinous crimes like murder arson extortion and Arms Act added SP. SDPO Heera lal Ravi assisted the SP in his press briefing here in Daltonganj.
