It is the number of wheel of a truck that decides the load capacity of mines and minerals put on it.
Palamu administration has identified truck having 6 to 18 wheels. This identification has been done to check over-loading during transportation of mines and minerals from here to outside.
Sources said mines and minerals are being siphoned off by way of over loading. State’s intelligence sleuths of Special Branch have had stern eyes on this over loading transportation of mines and minerals from this place.
Sources also revealed that the Special Branch is goading the Palamu administration to act fast to check the over loading of mines and minerals. The Apex Court too has a had a tough stand on the over loading. Stung by inputs from Special Branch, with regard to over loading of mines and minerals, Palamu DC K Srinivasan has passed an order in this regard.
The Pioneer obtained a copy of this order of DC. The order has listed load capacity in accordance with the number of wheels of a truck.
Srinivasan said any truck found indulging in transporting over-load of mines and minerals will face seizure. Further, the administration reserves the right to terminate the mining lease and mining licence. He said he had asked SP Palamu to keep his police stations in Palamu to be in pursuit of truck loaded with mines and minerals flouting this wheel proportion load.
Srinivasan said very recently he had put on the job district transport officer to chase and catch truck with over load of mines and minerals. He agreed the result was not any encouraging.
Sources said the over load of mines and minerals is not only cutting into the state exchequer but is also causing damages to roads here. He reiterated the administration would go all out to stop this practice of over loading of mines and minerals.
Sources said there is a deep nexus and vicious circle behind this over loading of mines and minerals. On a transport permit of 9 tonnes mines and minerals worth 15 tonnes are passed in just one trip.
