On April 29, a mukhiya, Dilip Kumar, of East Haidarnagar panchayat was shot dead in Daltonganj. On May 5, a chairman of Nagar Panchayat Hussainabad, Chadan Paswan, was shot at. The mukhiya’s case is yet to be cracked while the police claimed to have solved the chairman’s case.
In the mukhiya murder case 12 persons have been named as accused without any arrest so far. Palamau SP YS Ramesh said, “The Palamu police will not arrest any innocent in this case. We just cannot push in any innocent in this case. We are very near cracking this case.”
However in the chairman’s case police have something to show. Ramesh said the police have caught two persons Niraj and Dipu and recovered one country made pistol from NIraj. The SP added Niraj, Dipu and four others Dabloo, Ashwani, Rahul and Shoobham are all members of a gangster Prem Singh lodged in the central jail Hazaribag.
Asked as to what interest has this man in Hazaribag jail here in Palamu Ramesh said this man in Hazaribag wants to control the money flow that comes by way of ‘tax’ collection from taxi stand and market in Hussainabad and Paswan was shot at to terrorise him as he is the head of the Nagar Panchayat Hussainabad under which comes the collection of revenue from the taxi stand and the market.
