Pahans have predicted timely and abundant rain this year which means that the hard days are going to end by mid-June and this year the peasants will get good agricultural yield in the State.

This prediction was made by the Pahans after opening the earthen pots filled with water for the purpose of worship and other rituals on the eve of Sarhul. This Sunday was the day of nature festival of Jharkhand, Sarhul, and everywhere there was enthusiasm of the festival since early morning.

The main program of Sarhul was organised by different Sarna Samitis of Hazaribagh near New Bus Stand Sarna Sthal and Ground. From early evening people started to visit the Sarna Sthal with their family members and friends. In noon youths came out from their areas dancing on the streets and assembled in the Sarna Ground where the Pahans completed the rituals and then traditional dance and other cultural programs were organised.

Addressing the gathering Minister Amar Kumar Bauri said that many cultures and tribes flourished in different parts of the world and lost their identity with time.

"We the residents of Jharkhand should be proud of having our ancient tribe and culture and Sarhul is one of them which always reminds us that we all are products of nature and it is our duty to save it."

Bauri also said that Sarhul festival is the identity of Jharkhand which connects all with rich ancient culture. Reminding the message of CM Raghuvar Das, he also appealed to everyone present there to plant a tree in their houses or nearby places and protect it because it is connected with their lives.

MlA Manish Jaiswal said, “Due to various reasons we are cutting trees everyday and thus harming the nature. We are facing the adverse effects of our greed and at the time of Sarhul we all should promise that we will protect the trees, flora and fauna of the State because our lives are completely dependent on nature and trees are a very significant part of nature."
