Opposition invites Roy to join grand alliance

PNS

As reports of Food and Civic Supplies department Minister Saryu Roy flaying his own Government and its style of functioning came to the fore on Thursday, the grand alliance (Mahagathbandhan) leaders today offered Roy to quit his party and join their fold.

Speaking at the Assembly JMM MLA, Kunal Sarangi said, “It is high time that Saryu Roy should leave the government and join grand alliance in larger interest of State.  Roy’s statement that he is feeling suffocated within the Government is shocking. The Minister’s remark is an eye opener for the Government and its performance.”

Sarangi said, “Roy is senior Minister in Government and if the Government is not listening to him it shows the functioning of the Government.”

Jhrakhand Vikas Morcha (P) leader and party MLA from Poreyahat, Pradeep Yadav said, “Saryu Roy is doing drama, as earlier also he had given such statements. If he is upset and unhappy with government, he should resign from government.” Yadav further said, “Roy had the habit of first criticizing the Government than praising the government.”  The Opposition including JMM and Congress over Roy’s remark demanded the Raghubar Das Government.  Roy’s resentment with government gains importance he today he did not turn up to Assembly.

However, the State BJP after Roy’s remark went on the damage control mode. CP Singh, State Urban Development and Housing Minister said, “I have not gone though the statement of Roy. Also it is not clear on what context he had given such statement. If requires we will meet the minister and short out the differences.”

However Singh said, “The government under led by CM Raghubar Das is doing good job. There is mutual cooperation and coordination among ministers.” Echoing the views of Singh, State Agriculture minister, Randhir Kumar Singh said, “Chief Minister Raghubar Das Government is democratic government and Das being Chief Minister never interferes in the work of other ministers.

However, Das being Captain of the government has the right to know about the works of each and every minister.” Earlier, on Wednesday Roy had stated that he feels suffocating working within the government. Later, speaking to media persons Roy said that going to Delhi and meeting top leaders is not a surprising thing. “My visit to Delhi was already scheduled. People add to what I say and if something (resignation) happens people will come to know.

When I am happy with 99 out of 100 works of the government it doesn’t make news, but when I am unhappy with a single issue it is flashed all over. I have not said anything on the overall functioning of the government,” he said.
