Opposition calls on Governor

PNS

The day when a major partner of the Opposition unity JVM faced blasts from inside, leaders of different parties walked up to Governor Syed Ahmed updating him about delay in Cabinet expansion, draconian land acquisition act and other 'burning' issues before the State. JVM's legislature body leader Pradeep Yadav took a break from the war room meeting continuing at party office over its warring MlAs and left for Raj Bhawan along with Prakash Ram, party's latehar legislator. leader of Opposition and JMM leader Hemant Soren walked along with some of his MlAs.

Nevertheless none of the Congress legislator joined the team citing preoccupation of PCC chief Sukhdeo Bhagat and ClP leader Alamgir Alam at party's divisional meeting at Dumka. Speaking outside, Hemant Soren said, "The incumbent Government is hell bent on killing democracy and ignoring development of the State. It is also supporting anti-people and anti-poor policies which would prove costly to the people of the State. The Opposition is united on all these issues."

The parties are feeling nervous over delay in Cabinet expansion that has made them afraid to lose their MlAs to the BJP. Recent crack in the JVM is being seen in this light also. "The BJP is doing a dirty politics which is not good for a democracy. We totally oppose this and apprised the Governor about this," said Pradeep Yadav.

Arup Chatterjee of Marxist-Coordination also accompanied the delegation that mostly had JMM members. Several MlAs who had gathered at Hemant Soren's residence on Thursday to chalk out the strategy were missing from the scene on Monday.
