Extremists’ Tiger group led by Pradeep Mahto killed the dreaded criminal of Barkagaon and adjoining areas Dashrath Mahto near Mahudi hill of Barkagaon block on Wednesday evening. Vishal Kumar, an ally of Dashrath has also received bullet injuries and is referred to RIMS, Ranchi after preliminary treatment at sadar hospital Hazaribagh.
According to the lato Mahto father of Dashrath Mahto last evening after receiving a call he left the home along with an ally on his Bolero and after some hours the news came that he has been shot dead. lato Mahto said that Dashrath has returned from jail just a few days ago. His dispute with Pradeep Mahto was going on since long.
After getting information Barkagaon police recovered the dead body of Dashrath Mahto near the Rani pond of Burhwah Mahadev temple of Mahudi village and sent it for postmortem to Hazaribagh. Eight bullet injuries were found on his body fired by 9mm pistol. Vishal Kumar, who is a resident of Natraj Nagar Barkagaon, has received bullet injuries on his shoulder and knee. Police has seized a motorcycle, said to be of Pradeep Mahto, the Bolero and mobile of Dashrath Mahto from the incident site.
Talking with newsmen SP Anup Birthare said that Dashrath Mahto a resident of Chorka village of Barkagon was a criminal who has just came out of jail. He is an accused in 16 cases lodged in the police stations of Ranchi, Shilli, Hazaribagh and Chatra. As per information someone associated with tiger group called Dashrath near Mahudi hill last evening where the chief of the group Pradeep Mahto, who arrived there on motorcycle, opened fire on him and his ally and escaped leaving the bike.
Police has started investigating the incident and according to our sources the call details of Dashrath’s mobile has provided some important clues.
SP Birthare who visited Barkagon and Keredari police stations on Thursday said that yesterday a rail works inspector Madhu Samajhdar, who is a resident of Hazaribagh district, was abducted by unknown criminals from Balumath area of Palamau and there is possibility that the abductors are hiding in the forest area of Hazaribagh district so he had given special instruction to the police officials of both police stations to be vigilant and start raid operation at suspected sites.
