A whiff of change in administrative functioning has begun to be seen in Palamau Division.Chief Minister Raghubar Das’ instruction to the Deputy Commissioners to ensure that block-level officers stay at their place of posting and do not shuttle every day from their dwelling place outside the block to the work place has yielded results.
Garhwa DC Manish Ranjan has got it done. 17 km away from the border of Palamu, there is a block office at Ramkanda under Garhwa district which comes under Palamu commissionary.BDO Dayanand Jaiswal stays at Thana More at Ramkanda after effective motivation from the DC.Jaiswal, on being asked said: “I live here and I have learnt to adjust myself. Good food and English newspapers are a treat.”
The Pioneer recently visited Ramkanda block office and saw the complete police station at just a stone throw distance from the block office where cops are yet to take occupancy since the area is a water hit one.The Ramkanda block office donot have electricity arrangements and the solar lights are used in the police station, said the BDO.
