NTPC's Pakri Barwadih Coal Mining Project distributed sewing machines among the women of displaced villages. Earlier NTPC had arranged three months long training program for these women in which they got training of sewing, cutting and embroidery.

GM NTPC Ravindra Singh Rathi gave sewing machines to the trained women in a programme organised in Nagdi village under the community development programme of the organisation. In his address he said that the aim of these type of programmes is to make the women of this area self dependent.

GM promised to the villagers present there to continue such type of programmes in future too. He said that after getting training women can help their families economically too. He informed that very soon a training programme will start in which the women of the area will learn about making candles, incent sticks, soap etc.
