Pro Vice Chancellor of NP university Dr Bijay Singh has resigned. Sources said Singh has sent in his resignation letter to Principal Secretary to the Governor, Jharkhand in Ranchi.
Sources further said Singh has expressed his desire that his resignation as PVC from be accepted from August 30.
PVC Bijay Singh has confirmed to have resigned saying “I have sent in my resignation letter to Raj Bhavan urging for its acceptance from August 30”.
Singh described personal reasons for his resignation.
His tenure as PVC was to end in coming March.
His resignation months before the completion of his tenure has surprised many. Singh has earned a mark for taking decision on the spot said sources here. Singh said, “My resignation is for very personal reasons and nothing else.” Singh becomes the second PVC of this university to resign ahead of the end of the tenure.
A PVC’s tenure is of 3 years. Acceptance of Singh’s resignation is awaited from Raj Bhavan.
