In order to boost cleanliness, mechanized cleaning machines have been installed at Ranchi Railway Station for cleaning railway tracks and other areas around the station premises. Indian Railways being the largest department of Government of India is working on varied dimensions to provide world-class services to passengers.
South Eastern Railway's first of its kind mechanized cleaning system with aid of State-of-the-art self-propelled cleaning machines are put at the Ranchi Railway Station. Ranchi Division DRM Deepak Kashyap, Senior DCM Neeraj Kumar along with other officials inducted the world class mechanized cleaning system at Ranchi Railway Station on Friday.
Systematically, managing the procedure approximately 7,000 sq. metres will be covered for cleaning purpose.
With approximately 15 premier class mechanized cleaning facilities available with the department; the mechanized cleaning will help in deducting the cleaning time and will reduce manual labourers burden along with maintaining apt hygiene.
"Apart from all foreign imported machines, we have also increased the number of staffs from 38 to 105 while earlier only two supervisors used to manage cleaning staffs now under the guidance of six supervisors, all the work will be carried out. The department has planned to depute one project-in-charge for the purpose," said DRM, Ranchi Division, Deepak Kashyap.
For this particular procedure the contract has been given to Annapurna Utility services for three years. All automated machines will operate on battery, making it convenient to handle.
"Total 15 mechanized machines of German brand 'Roots' have been purchased. With the value of approximately 7.76 crores, the contract has been signed with the railway officials," said, Chairman of Annapurna Utility Services, Chanchal Bhattacharya.
Skid Mounted litter picking machines with self propelled trolley for cleaning railway tracks, High jet pressure for washing tracks and aprons, ride on scrubber cum sweeper for maintenance of platforms including automated sweepers for sweeping in concourse area where ride on road sweeper cannot be used with wet and dry industrial vacuum cleaner, escalator cleaner, tractor deployment for efficient disposal of garbage and sewer suction cum jetting machines for desisting drainage are installed at Ranchi Railway station.
