Now, BJP demands place for temple on Assembly premises

On being allotted a room for offering prayers in the Assembly building, former BJP minister, former Speaker and MLA CP Singh made serious allegations against the coalition government and the Speaker of the Assembly for promoting the politics of appeasement.

He said that the Assembly is the temple of democracy, yet the government is doing the politics of appeasement keeping a particular community in mind. He said that worship is the right of everyone. BJP believes in Sarvadharma Sambhav but appeasement of vote bank of a particular community is murder of democracy, he said.

Singh said that the BJP does not oppose anyone's worship, but allocating rooms focusing on one community is to further the politics of appeasement. He said that about 78 MLAs and hundreds of employees are associated with Hindutva. “Keeping in mind the spirit of all these, a temple of Bajrang Bali should be constructed and a huge idol should be installed. Legislators will also get power from Bajrang Bali as well as devotion. If the government, which is crying for funds, does not have the courage to build a temple, then they should provide the site, BJP will build the temple. If the temple is not built, the BJP will agitate from the road to the house. The party will not tolerate the politics of appeasement,” he added.

Meanwhile, former Chief Minister and BJP national vice president Raghubar Das said, “The legislators involved in the coalition government openly support the Taliban. A separate room for Namaz in the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly is the result of this ideology. Otherwise any person who believes in Indian democracy would not do such an act. The government is also tarnishing the dignity of constitutional institutions for appeasement and vote bank politics. This is not a good sign for Jharkhand. State BJP will agitate if the decision of allotting a separate room for Namaz in the Assembly is not withdrawn. To save the dignity of the temple of democracy, I myself will sit on a dharna outside the Assembly.”
