No headway in probe yet, Home Guards resume duty

PNS

Even after 48 hours of the clash between Home Guards and the junior doctors at MGM College & Hospital campus, the hospital management has made no headway in the probe. No action has been taken against the doctors who assaulted the security guards.

Sources went on to inform that superintendent SS Prasad is yet to examine the footage of the CCTV monitors installed at his chamber. Though he claimed to have formed probe panel but the investigation is yet to begin. Sources further informed that instead of the superintendent, the junior doctors involved in thrashing the guards watched the CCTV monitors and even tried to delete some of the footage that captured them in awkward position.

Prasad, when asked confirmed that a delegation of junior doctors had on Tuesday entered his chamber while looking at the CCTV footage, but claimed that the CCTV footage has not been edited. According to the home-guards, on Monday midnight a car arrived under a tree close to the nurse hostel on the hospital premises.  After sometime, the home-guard on duty saw a youth in compromising situation with a nursing staff inside the car.  When the home-guard protested to the obscene act, the youth inside the car introduced himself as a junior doctor and assaulted him. The home-guard had raised objection as the doctor, Shuprabhat Kumar, was caught in an objectionable condition.

When contacted one of the home-guards pointed out the management is trying to save the doctors. “We also suspect that certain CCTV footage showing the junior doctors assaulting the guards have been deleted,” he noted. The home-guard jawans who had gone on strike in protest have resumed their duty this morning but they said they will fight for justice.

Meanwhile, Prasad noted, “We will probe the incident and punish the guilty. I have served notice to three doctors for setting up the panel.  I will ask them to finish the probe as soon as possible”.
