Urban Development Minister CP Singh on Friday said that there will be no dearth of funds for making State capital a smart city. Singh, while inaugurating online trade licensing process system at Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) office on Friday, said that whole exercise was being undertaken to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s dream of Digital India make true in the State.

“We will make all facilities and infrastructure available to make Ranchi a Smart City,” said the minister. Funds have been kept reserved for the development of Ranchi and RMC as well, added the Minister. Terming online trade licensing process beneficial for the common man, Singh added that through this system, people can apply online for trade licenses from anywhere even sitting back in their homes. “People in the state capital can get trade licenses online, which could be applied and obtained by anybody sitting back in their homes,” said Singh. For those who do not have the knowledge of computers, arrangements have been made at the three public utility centers in the city, it will also be connected through Pragya Kendra so that no one will have to come here and roam around ‘Babus’ to get their work done, added the minister.

Earlier, people had to run after the government officials to get trade licenses in the state capital. Now with the introduction of online trade licensing system, people can even apply for renewal of their licenses and even surrender their licenses online. Singh said that the State Government, to make it more convenient for the common man, has been making all efforts that the people do not have to face any problem to avail the services offered by the State Government.

“Initiatives have already been taken to make RMC paperless, making everything online without using papers for day for anything,” said Singh. “In the coming few months everything in the RMC office will be made paperless where things will be done online without using a single paper for it,” he said.

“After digital signature is introduced in trade licensing process, people can even get their licenses sitting in their homes by downloading it,” added Singh.
