With Assembly election getting nearer, strong posturing has been made by BJP’s alliance partners in State AJSU party and Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) with an indication demanding more seats from big brother BJP.

However, the State BJP has made it clear that the party will not make any compromise on its seats. State BJP president Laxman Gilua, who was in Saraikela on Thursday said that the party, while sharing seats with its alliance partners, will go on 2014 Assembly election formula.

He said, “In 2014 Assembly election, AJSU party was given eight seats and going by previous formula AJSU party will be given the same number of seats.” Sources said that AJSU party has demanded 19 seats from BJP on the basis of support AJSU party chief Sudesh Mahto is getting at public rallies. However, Gilua said, “Getting crowd at public rallies doesn’t mean increase in support base which helps in translating votes.”

Meanwhile, the AJSU party with its demands for bigger share from BJP is going to hold a meeting this month where final discussion will be held chalking out strategies for Assembly poll.

ASJU party spokesperson, Deosharan Bhagat said, “The party has called a meeting of its senior leaders this month where discussion on number of seats party will stake claim from BJP.” Bhagat, however, said that the party will contest as many seats so that it can easily reach the double digit number of its legislators.

He also said that in 2014, the NDA’s slogan was Abki Baar 41 paar, but this time NDA slogan is Abki Baar 65 paar which means that AJSU will contest more number of seats as compared to previous election. The AJSU party with an aim to strengthen its base on October 2 kick-started Swaraj Swabhiman Yatra. The Yatra was launched across the State with senior leaders of party leading yatra at different parts of Assembly segments. AJSU chief Sudesh Mahto lead the yatra at Silli and Tamar area, while Giridih MP Chandraprakash Choudhary lead the yatra at Ramgarh and Mandu area.

Not only, AJSU party, but NDA other alliance partners LJP too is planning to contest some seats in Assembly election. On Wednesday, LJP state president Virendra Pradhan met chief minister Raghubar Das with a demand for some seats from big brother BJP.

LJP parliamentary board chairman and Jamui MP Chirag Paswan last month addressed rallies at Chatra and Hussainabad with an indication that party will contest Assembly election. Out of NDA strength of 46 MLAs, BJP has 43 MLAs while AJSU has three MLAs.
