No action in harassment case at BBMKU authorities in 2 months

Even after two months, since the National Commission for Women ( NCW) directed Dhanbad Superintendent of police as well as BBMKU to initiate action in the harassment case filed by a lady teacher, till date the action remains inconclusive.

Intellectuals in university circle feel that the case may be hushed up just like it was done in a similar complaint filed by a lady teacher of a private BEd college.Sources said, the university authorities reconstituted the women's grievance cell in mid of July though the complaint was filed by the victim professor  three months ahead of the reconstitution of the committee.

The university remained silent on the issue  for months together though it too had received two successive notices .

Though attempts to get comment  on this issue from senior university officials to get actual status of the complaint failed, it has been  learnt that the committee for women's grievance cell has started an inquiry and had summoned both the victim and accused in this  case.

In addition to this there are more  complaints of alleged harassment by two HODs of language Departments to students who are floating in the campus. Though  written complaints  have not been lodged with the fear of further harassment by the authority in both cases, said sources.
