The body of an unidentified newborn was recovered on Sunday from the Bokaro river bank in Hosir area in Bokaro district. Sources said that the local villagers first noticed the dead body and informed the local police. After getting information, the Gomia police reached at the Bokaro river site and took possession of the dead body and sent it to the mortuary house.
No one knows about where the dead body of the newborn came from on the river bank.
While on Sunday morning, people started coming and going to see the dead body of the newborn lying on the banks of the Bokaro river ghat in Hosir area.
People say that the newborn probably belongs to woman who left it on the river bank due to fear of social shame and who has been washed away in the river due to the continuous rain.
At the same time, in this regard, Gomia police station in-charge Rajesh Ranjan said that the body would be kept in the mortuary home for identification. In case of non-identification, appropriate action will be taken after investigation.
