Prabodh Ranjan Das on Wednesday took oath for the post of Information Commissioner of Jharkhand, administered by Governor Syed Ahmed at a function at the Governor House in Ranchi.
Advisors to the Governor Madhukar Gupta and K Vijay Kumar along with Chief Secretary RS Sharma and other dignitaries were also present on the occasion. Das had been serving as Registrar General of the Jharkhand High Court.
Hearing of cases was resumed immediately after his appointment as the Information commissioner’s office was lying vacant for quite some time.
The hearing had been discontinued since September 13, 2012 in the
backdrop of the Supreme Court’s directive in the case of Namita Sharma VS Government of India.
