'New BJP panel to be in place soon'

Mukesh Ranjan

Jharkhand BJP in-charge Trivendra Singh Rawat on Wednesday said that all is well in the State BJP.

“There is no confusion as I have already said that the old committee still exists here in Jharkhand BJP. Except Tala Marandi, no new entrant could be entertained in the existing committee,” said Rawat. He also added that the process of formation of a new committee will be started soon and will be completed within a few days.

Notably, there was confusion among the party leaders over the last few weeks whether to approach new committee members formed by newly appointed party’s state chief Tala Marandi or the old committee members in case of any requirement.

Marandi, on the other hand, also saw no confusion as his prime motive was to accomplish works in the interest of the party.

“It hardly matters whether the programme is new or old…organisational work must go on….I want to work on mission mode,” said Marandi. “You will just see how works are done in Jharkhand…we will all work together…whether the organization is new or old we will all work together in coordination with each other,” he said.

Following statement made by Rawat, the party leaders are quite excited and look forward that the dark clouds over the state BJP may finally get settled soon.

“Everything is clear now….The state In-charge has cleared that the committee formed by the new state BJP chief Tala Marandi is invalid while the old committee will keep on doing work as usual,” said BJP Vice President Deepak Prakash. Very soon a new committee will be formed in the state, he added.

Spokesperson, Kamal Khan, who has been a part of both the committees, also claimed that there was no confusion and everything was going on smoothly in the party.

“The party work can never be held up…if there is any confusion one can talk to the Party President. Everything, according to me, is going on smoothly here …..Union Minister of State Faggan Singh Kulaste is coming here to take part in ‘Tiranga Yatra’ in the State under ‘1970 – Zara Yaad Karo Kurbani’ programme, which is being observed from August 9 to August 23,” said Kamal Khan.

Surprisingly, in the new list, all state spokespersons could find no place except Kamal Khan, while all party vice presidents and state general secretaries too were replaced.

Notably, the announcement of the new state team through a WhatsApp message triggered a crisis in the BJP’s Jharkhand unit with a few newly appointed office-bearers declining the offer over the manner in which the announcement was made. Party’s youth wing and minority cell workers also launched an agitation against the appointment of some “newcomers”. After meeting the agitators, senior leader Yashwant Sinha too offered to resign as a permanent invitee to the state executive.
