Taking cognizance of the media reports going viral where large-scale irregularities were apparent at the isolation ward of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences, Chief Minister Hemant Soren asked Health Minister Banna Gupta on take stock of the situation there. The CM also ordered Ranchi Deputy Commissioner Chhavi Ranjan to probe the matter and inform after ensuring that such incidents do not occur.
The CM asked administration to be more sensitive towards human values, especially during the Covid-19 crisis.
Meanwhile, the Ranchi DC formed a special team to probe the irregularities at the RIMS Covid-19 isolation ward.
The CM was informed by sharing pictures of RIMS Covid 19 ICU isolation ward that a patient was lying on the floor due to the broken bed for the patients in the ward. A patient was shown to be in seminude condition. After the information of the case, the Chief Minister gave the instructions to DC Ranchi.
Meanwhile, a joint delegation of IMA Jharkhand Ranchi, AHPI Jharkhand and JHASA met the CM and submitted a memorandum to him.
The delegation discussed before the CM about ensuring treatment of Covid and non Covid patients in different hospitals and made some suggestions through memorandum. The delegation appreciated the impressive steps taken by the government to provide beds, resources and other medical facilities in hospitals.
Soren assured to consider the suggestions given by the delegation regarding treatment of Covid and non Covid patients. Secretary IMA Jharkhand Dr. Pradeep Singh, Secretary AHPI Dr Rajesh Kumar, Secretary IMA Ranchi Dr Shambhu Prasad Singh, Chairman HBI Dr RS Das and former Secretary IMA Ranchi Dr Nitesh Priya were present on the occasion.
The CM on Saturday has expressed deep grief over the demise of Shiv Thakur Soren, resident of Udhwa block of Sahibganj. He said that labourer Shiv Thakur Soren was working in road construction in Ladakh. In this sequence, he died due to the explosion of mines. “May God give peace to his soul and the family to bear this hour of grief. His body is being brought to Jharkhand,” said the CM.
