Widow of  late Jagnandan Prasad Singh, who had been brutally killed by the PlFI cadres near his house at Srjang village in Chaibasa under Anandpur block on January 26, 2016,  knocked the doors of Agriculture Minister Randheer Kumar Singh for help during ‘Karyakarta Darbar’ organised here at the State BJP Headquarters.

Singh on Monday heard a total of 11 complaints from the people coming from various districts of the State, including six complaints brought to his notice by the BJP workers.

“My husband was killed by the PlFI cadres branding him as a police informer, but no help has been provided to us from the government. When I went to the BDO of Anandpur block, he did not respond to us. Ultimately, I had to turn to the minister for help as I have no one to support after my husband’s death,” said Singh’s widow Khileshwari Devi.

“I have four children who had to discontinue their studies as we moved out of our village after the incident as there are still chances that they may harm us again,” she added. No compensation from the Government has been given to her so far, she added.

The Minister taking a swift action called up the DC, Chaibasa, and directed him to provide relief to the woman as per the provisions under the law and also asking him to make proper arrangement for education of her children and admit them to any government residential schools if possible.

Another group of 52 people also approached the minister with their complaints that despite fulfilling all the requirements, they were not being absorbed by the officials of Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC) on compassionate grounds.

“The RMC officials have made me run around them for the last 4 years, saying that there was no post vacant in the Corporation, but I handed over a list of Grade III and IV posts vacant in the Corporation following which the Minister called up the Principal Secretary of Urban Development Department asking him to look into the matter and do the needful,” said Satendra Singh.

Vimla Devi of Banhara village under Kanke block in Ranchi complained that someone had captured her land on which the minister directed the Additional Collector to investigate properly and hand over the land to the lady if her claims were legitimate.

A complaint against Managing Director of Bazaar Samiti Pooja Singhal also came before the Minister, alleging her of cancelling the allotment of shops without any reasons which were earlier allotted to them. The BJP workers requested the Minister to help them getting their shops back. Singh assured them that he will personally look into the matter and will take legitimate action in this regard.
