Participants have started gathering from Monday at Jhumaritelaiya for the 33rd Junior Boys Freestyle Griekoroman and 16th Junior Girls Free style National Wrestling championship going to be held from May 29-31.
The three-day National Wrestling championship is going to be held at Koderma and it is an honour to Koderma district to host this grand national level event for the first time at Koderma. The preperations for successful conduction of the event are in full swing.
K Ravikumar, vice president of the National Wrestling association and State acting president DC Koderma, told that paticipants from 29 States, including New Delhi, Haryana, Punjab, Orissa, West Bengal, Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, will take part in this national championship. Other than these 29 State teams, Army and railways teams will also participate in the tournament. He added 744 participants, 94 coaches 66 team managers and 110 technical officers will take part from different State teams. Bholanath Singh, General secretary of Jharkhand State Wrestling Association, said that the games will be played from 8 am to 12 noon at Koderma Block Ground. A hanging stadium is under preparation at the ground which will finalised till 27th. Raja Tent House of Jhumaritelaiya and Ranchi Tent house are preparing the hanging stadium, he added. On 28th, the players will go through weight test.
A cultural programme by students of Natraj Kala Kendra dance academy directed by Rajesh Bhadani, director of the academy, will be performed to make the moment memorable. State water resources and child welfare minister Annpurna Devi will inaugurate the programme on May 29th. Amit Yadav MlA Barkattha, Umashankar Akela MlA Barhi, Raja Singh General secretary of Indian wrestling association and SM Hasmi General secretary of Jharkhand Olympic Association will grace the occasion.
The boarding arrangemens are made at Agrasen Bhawan, Digambar Jain Bhawan, Mahuri Bhawan for the participants and team managers and other officials are boarded at Koderma circuit house and Hotel centre square Jhumaritelaiya.
