Admitting a complete lack of breakthroughs in the Deoghar double rape and murder of two schoolgirls, DGP Rajeev Kumar said policeman Sudhir Kumar, arrested for complicity, will be narco-analysed to get more leads.
“We have arrested Sudhir Kumar on circumstantial evidence. A narco test will be conducted. We are taking every possible step to nab the culprits,” he emphasised.
He also divulged information on an increase in rapes — from 328 during January-May 2012 to 500 in 2013 — as more cases are being registered and several old cases being reopened.
When asked about the transfer of DSP PN Singh, investigating officer in the cash stash case of the mayoral elections involving Rama Khalkho, the DGP said the officer would be reinstated and continue his probe.
However, he rejected the contention that there was any pressure on him that led to the removal of Singh from the case.
