NAAC team inspects RU admin section

The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) team members on Tuesday assessed the provisions and arrangements at university office and interacted with the officers at administrative section, Shaheed Chowk. The team members on second day visited the multipurpose examination hall, central library, hostels and academic staff college enquiring about the recent development and checking its condition.

After inspecting the arrangement at RU Central library, the team went to student union leader office and interacted with the leaders who submitted their report to the members complaining about the lack of basic amenities on campus premises.

PG student union leader, Tanuj Khatri who had compiled the report and submitted it to the members, said, “I have just presented the real picture of the Ranchi University. It is so demeaning that that the university has not even given the correct figures of total number of students studying at PG department. According to the varsity record, only 4000 students are there in university but in contrary around 8000 students are studying here.”

The team was shocked to hear that the university does not have the provision of ATMs on campus premises said Tanuj Khatri. Besides that all these arrangements made just before the NAAC team inspection is temporary as the varsity somehow wants to get the funding under the RUSA provisions claimed Khatri.

Denying all the allegations, a senior official at RU, requesting anonymity said that the NAAC team members were satisfied with the arrangements after evaluating all the 22 PG departments including other administrative section. As far as student union leader’s version is concerned, merely rising up some baseless points cannot pull down the grading of the university as all the PG departments so far is well equipped with all essential facilities and university is trying to achieve new stature. On April 19, the NAAC team members will hand over the final findings to Ranchi University VC, Dr. Ramesh Kumar Pandey.
