Women of Jharkhand have become more aware in reciprocating against crime on them in the past 13 years. A recent study reveals that the number of reportage of crimes against women has increased to about 100 per cent.
“This increase clearly indicates that women are coming forward to report such crimes especially the heinous ones. It is definitely a positive sign,” Inspector General of Jharkhand Police (Provisions) Anurag Gupta said on Thursday. Supporting this fact, UNICEF’s officials mentioned that the data is true as the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB) clearly shows that reporting on heinous crime including rape, kidnapping and abduction, dowry deaths and cruelty by husband or his relatives have increased.
