Former Union Minister for Home and Finance, P Chidambaram on Friday launched a fierce attack on Central Government led by Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and State Government by Raghubar Das in Jharkhand terming the two as worst Governments ever.
Talking to mediapersons at the Congress office, Chidambaram appealed to the people to overthrow the BJP Government in the State.
He said, “We have weakened the BJP in Haryana, stopped it from coming to power in Maharashtra and appeal to the people to defeat BJP in Jharkhand.”
The senior Congress leader also gave his response on the encounter in Telangana.
He said, “I do not know the facts of what has happened in Hyderabad. But, as a responsible person, I would just like to say that there should be a thorough investigation of the whole case, so that it can be known that the encounter took place during the escape of the criminals or it was something else. It will also have to be investigated whether the culprits were really running away or not.”
The former Finance Minister described the BJP Government at the Center as inefficient and said that the country’s economy is in a big crisis due to its policies.
He said, “National growth rate is expected to go down to five per cent as well. The Reserve Bank estimated the Country’s growth rate to be 7.4 per cent in February and said that after just 10 months, there is 4.5 per cent growth recorded in December. Such a decline was never seen within 10 months. It is unprecedented.”
He said that the economy is in a serious crisis from the same point that when writing it in ‘Deep Trouble’ in English, instead of deep in the spelling of deep, at present dee ........ p is needed to be writen. E must be written at least 20 times in this word, he added.
Chidambaram said in a country where there is so much grain production, people are falling prey to hunger, it is ‘shameful’. He claimed that 20 thousand people have become victims of starvation death in the Country. He said, “The Raghubar Das Government of Jharkhand is horribly inept and is a victim of mismanagement. Therefore, the BJP must be voted out.”
He claimed the Congress, along with its poll partners Jharkhand Mukti Morcha and Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in the State, will give a capable Government. But on the question of how he is claiming to form a capable Government with JMM and the jailed Lalu Yadav, he replied once again that Congress, along with JMM, can give a capable Government in the State.
