MlAs rake for Rs10 crore fund

PNS

legislators cutting across party lines demanded to hike the MlA fund from current Rs3 crore to Rs10 crore annually. The demand was moved in shape of a motion during the Zero Hour and signed by JVM’s Pradeep Yadav, JMM’s Tala Marandi and Arup Chatterjee of MCC. later, BJP’s Radha Krishna Kishore, Phulchand Mandal and Viranchi Narayan also echoed the demand citing inflation and other considerations.

Kishore put it strongly that quality and quantity of works done under the scheme have been better in comparison to the works implemented by the Departments. Yadav said that aspirations of people from an MlA have changed over the period of time which has become more development centric unlike earlier.

The members demanded for assurance from the Chief Minister who looked positive. “The Government is aware of the sentiments of the members. I cannot say more than that at this juncture,” said the CM.
