Hazaribagh MlA Manish Jaiswal visited the Sadar Hospital on Monday and took a close look at the condition of the hospital, which is claimed to be the biggest in North Chotanagpur division. After looking at the things, he gave ultimatum to the civil surgeon that if he will not take his duty seriously then he will call up the principal secretary of the department.

MlA Jaiswal reached Sadar Hospital along with his supporters  around 10 am. Civil surgeon Dr Dharamveer arrived at the hospital around 11:45 am. When MlA asked the reason for his late arrival, he failed to give an satisfying answer.

During his visit, Manish inspected the store room, where things were scattered and only four types of medicines were available in the hospital. When he wanted to know why only four medicines are available and new machines are in a deplorable condition, the rude answer of the store keeper forced him to comment that “you look to be more powerful than the CS”.

CS Dr Dangi examined the blood pressure of MlA Manish Jaiswal and gave wrong result, which irked the MlA. He said that when you people are not able to identify the faulty machine then how you treat the patients is easily understandable.

Manish visited the new building of the hospital, which is yet unused due to non-functioning of lift, blood bank, kitchen, wards, OPD and other areas of the hospital. He found apathy everywhere. He directed the civil surgeon to take immediate steps to start facilities in new building, depute a lady doctor in the blood bank, publicise the duty chart of doctors on duty in OPD and wards and to keep the campus clean specially the kitchen where cow dung was spread everywhere.

During this visit, he came to know about the ANM training centre, which is closed for two years. He enquired about it and directed the civil surgeon to initiate the process of its reopening. He assured every possible help from his side in it. He also directed the civil surgeon to arrange a meeting, where he can discuss problems faced by people and ways to improve hospital’s facilities with the doctors posted at the centre.
