Uma Shankar Akela, MlA Barhi, sat on fast unto death to protest against Barhi police in front of Barhi DSP office on Tuesday morning. Talking to The Pioneer Akela said that for last few months, Barhi police is acting as agent of ruling parties and the innocent workers and supporters are on target.
In the last 3-4 months atleast 7-8 false cases have been registered and innocent people have been sent behind the bars by the Barhi police, he added. Sources informed that 3-4 days ago, Kishun Yadav of village kohli found some cattles missing from his herd. Next morning he started search of his cattles in kohli and adjoining villages. He failed to trace his cattles and perhaps in agony talked in the village that some members of other community have stolen the cattles.
On Monday, his cattles were found dead in the out skirts of the village. Broken electricity wires were found at the site which made it clear that the cattle have died of electrocution. After getting the information Barhi police reached there. Ex-MlA Manoj kumar Yadav also reached there and as per Akela’s blame, he directed the police officials to lodge a case against Kishun yadav for disturbing the communal harmony of the area.
