The first skateboarding and BMXing group of Ranchi Skaters and Bicycle Motor X (BMXers) -- (RSB) stepped forward for skateboarding cults and inaugurated the first Mini Ramp by Dr. Govindjee Sahay at Boreya in Ranchi on Sunday.
During the inaugural session the RSB group arranged Skateboarding Demonstration, Skateboarding workshop for children, movie display to see the skateboarding culture all over the world and surprise tasks for the kids. Initiating the extreme sports skateboarding, usually seen and loved by the viewers on sports channels, skateborarding for the Ranchittes has been initiated by the RSB group in Ranchi in the form of Mini Ramp (the basic stage of the game).
The founder of Ranchi Skaters and BMXERS (RSB) Utkarsh Gupta is an MBBS student at RIMS, who loved skateboarding and carried his board when entered Medical College but was unable to enjoy the game. Utkarsh even carried the board to his class just in a hope to find space and enjoy the game and finally he found a small cemented space in the College campus.
According to Utkarsh being a single user of skateboard he decided to form a group so that he can enjoy the game. And finally Gupta formed a member group at the college campus including two school going kids. He visited several places like Delhi where he met Sourabh and Aditya of Delhi who used to run skating club, Kolkata and finally he with the founder Amit Subba of Assam of Holy Stoke Collective group of Skaters at Bangalore.
Being a medical student Utkarsh continued his efforts and at last joined all the three groups and brought them to Ranchi and started his Mini Ramp which he had never expected. According to the RSB group members they are already promoting BMX, MTB and Roller-skating and now their aim is to initiate extreme sports in whole state of Jharkhand. And to promote the game in Ranchi they have written to the sports department of Jharkhand which has been forwarded to the Director of RIMS to promote the game in the campus. RSB group is waiting for the directors reply, till then they have been moving towards the skating ground at Morhabadi which is now in pathetic condition but still the effort is going on. Just to promote the game in Ranchi Utkarsh invested in the mini ramp at his residence campus at Boreya which costs him about Rs 50,000.
