The budget sanctioned for Social Welfare Women and Child Development Department is not being utilised properly. Minister of Social Welfare Women and Child Development Annapurna Devi convened a review meeting with the officials of the department on Tuesday.
In the meeting she asked the officials to utilize the fund in the proper direction. Moreover, she also urged to regularly supply the food in anganwadi centers. Besides, food payment of anganwadi sevak and sevika should also be done on the scheduled time.
Minister Annapurna Devi said, “The department has funds but due to lack of its proper utilization the development graph is not showing a rising trend. The need of the hour is to look into the matter seriously and work in this direction.”
Meanwhile, state different districts have been provided fund regarding construction of new buildings as well as for the repairing of the existing buildings. In the meeting a
proposal of forming a committee to monitor the works of selected NGOs was also placed to which Minister has said that she will look into it and will form the committee soon.
Department Secretary Rajeev Arun Ekka, Directors, Assistant Directors and other officials were present in the meeting.
