All the preparations have been completed by the Ministry of Sports of the State for the first Sports State Meet which is scheduled to be organized from February 10 to February 12 at Khel Gaon in Ranchi as Sports Minister Amar Kumar Bauri unveiled Medal and trophy of the competition on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion Bauri said, the State is going to witness its first State Sports meet with a view to provide better platform to the players of the State and they should players at national and internal.
“It is our effort with full transparency that the players of the State should uplift popularity of the State in the field of Sports.
As we know that Jharkhand is rich in sports talents and a numbers of players of the state has proved their talents at national and international level. All the districts of the State are filled with talents, there is need to provide them a a better platform. The State government has organized the meet with view to bring out the hidden talents” he added.
Giving details of the sports meet Bauri said, “It is expected that more than 3000 players will participate during the meet from all 24 districts of the State for more than 30 various kinds of events.
More than 1100 medals will be distributed including Gold, Silver and Bronze with the Trophy of Champion district.”
He also paid tribute to the death of two National level players who have died in a road accident in Madhya Pradesh.
Jharkhand Olympic Association, General Secretary, Madhukant Pathak alonwith others was also present on the occasion.
