lokesh Khalkho the JD (U)-backed candidate shared his vision, mission and talked about his candidature in the municipal election 2013 with the pioneer on Monday. For Khalkho election is just a formality as he is the most suitable candidate for the post of mayor of Ranchi Municipal Corporation (RMC).
Hailing from a modest background, Khalkho, 37, considers him to be close enough to the people to understand their issues and believes that he has solution to all problems faced by the people of Ranchi.
Khalkho shared his vision for Ranchi, which according to him would take Ranchi to greater heights. “I dream of a Ranchi which is free from filth & fear, where vehicles run smoothly on the roads, localities are well connected to each other,” said Khalkho.
However, Khalkho is also aware that he needs to translate his vision into mission to make his dream come true. “I consider myself to be a man who is on mission and I will not rest until I achieve my goals,” said Khalkho.
Interestingly, Khalkho believes Masterplan holds key to the development of Ranchi and it needs to be implemented by the best and brightest minds. “If I win the mayoral election, I will hire best people for implementing the master plan,” Khalkho said.
For Khalkho, Ranchi needs a proper drainage & sewerage system and a waste recycling plant to channel resources back into the system. “A lot of water goes down the drain and never comes back into the system. My vision includes a waste treatment plant which will reverse the flow of water post treatment. This will help in addressing the shortage of water,” said Khalkho.
Significantly, Khalkho draws inspiration from leaders like Nitish Kumar, who he believes is the person worth emulating. “I revere Nitish Kumar for putting Bihar among the fastest growing State in India. I wish to do the same for Ranchi and make it the best metro in India,” said Khalkho.
Khalkho will release his manifesto in the last week of March in the presence of State president, JD (U), Khiru Mahto and decided to request Nitish Kumar to guide him in the mayoral elections.
