Attacking the State Government, Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) leader and former Chief Minister of the State, Babulal Marandi on Saturday dared the State Government to retract the Motor Vehicle Act-2019, otherwise the party will protest against implementation of it across the State.
Addressing the mediapersons on Saturday, Marandi said the party is giving two days for Government to think on the issue and withdraw its implementation in the State otherwise JVM will hold protest across the State on September 11 against the decision of the State Government. In these two days there are festival like Karma and Muharram so that the party will not disturb the government after that it will hold protest, he added
“This is not proper for the State like Jharkhand, which is already a poor State. People buy two-wheelers, somehow by managing money from several sources. Even Prime Minister’s home State Gujarat has not implemented it. If one will have to pay money above his deposit money and more than actual price of the vehicle than how he can arrange it. In such kind of situation the owner of the vehicle will try to manage somehow by giving some bribe to the authority,” said Marandi
The former Chief Minister further said on the issue that if the Government really wants to bring changes in people’s behaviour, then it should provide an insurance agent, a staff of Pollution Control Department at every Chowk so that a poor could be saved to pay hefty hard earned money.
“In another way the Government can charge a rule violator through another way that if one violate then he pay Rs 100 and if he violates again within given time period then he pay double amount if he violate again then he will have to pay four times what he paid at violating first time,” he added.
Criticising the Government, the party leader said that in this way the Government is directly looting the hard earned money of the people.
“Earlier the Government had looted people’s money through demontisation then it had demolished small business through Goods and Services Tax, it has also looted money from Reserve Bank of India now it is looting money of people through the act. The Government is trying only to loot people’s money by every hooks and crooks,” he added.
