PNS

Campaigning for Dumri bypoll gained momentum today with BJP State President and former Chief Minister Babulal Marandi addressing two back-to-back public meetings at Nawadih and Dhawa Tand in support of NDA candidate Yasodha Devi. In the midst of rain, Marandi while addressing the public meetings attacked the State government over corruption and loot of state mineral resources.

Marandi said that the present government has looted the state for the last three and a half years. Mines, minerals, land and sand stones have all been looted. Such a looter government needs to be thrown out of the state.

Marandi also raised the collapsed law and order situation of the state, stating that criminals in the state are unbridled. Incidents of murder, loot, theft, robbery, kidnapping have become common. Rape incidents are happening everyday. Daughters are being murdered, criminals are burning daughters with petrol.

He said that all this is happening because the present regime has engaged the state police not to restore law and order but to recover money.

Marandi said that corruption is at its peak in the state. Block, police station, go anywhere without money, even caste certificates are not made.

The people of the state are not getting sand to build houses and if a poor person takes out sand, the police catch him and send him to jail. But the middlemen, brokers, and smugglers of power are sending minerals out of the state without hesitation. The head of the state is promoting illegal mining for illegal earnings. He said that this government is also looting the 5 kg free rice per person which the central government is sending for the poor.

He said that in order to change the fate and picture of the state, it is necessary to change such a corrupt and inefficient state government. There is no hope of development in the state under the JMM/Congress alliance government.

It is said that in the Ramgarh by-election, the people of that place hit the State government by making the NDA candidate win. He called upon the people of Dumri to attack thugbandhan in Dumri like Ramgarh.

The bypoll, which is scheduled for September 5, was necessitated due to the death of JMM leader and former education minister Jagrnath Mahato earlier this year. His wife Bebi Devi is now contesting the bypoll as the JMM’s candidate backed by the party-led ruling coalition. She is pitted against the All Jharkhand Student Union Party (AJSUP)’s Yasodha Devi, who is the Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA)’s joint candidate.

In today's public meeting, MP Chandraprakash Chaudhary, State General Secretary and MP Aditya Sahu, Pranav Verma, former MP Ravindra Rai, Ravindra Pandey, MLA Dhullu Mahato, Lambodar Mahato, Neera Yadav, Nagendra Mahato, Chhotelal Yadav, District President Mahadev Dubey, Suresh Sav etc. was present.
