CPI Maoists damaged a solar panel of an upcoming tower at Kala Pahar under Chhaterpur police station in Palamu last night. The Maoists attempted to burn down completely the panel too. But the fire caused less damages than what the Maoists had so planned. The fire rendered the panel inoperative, said sources.
The solar panel was stoned also for its destruction. SP Palamu Patel Mayur Kanhaiya lal has confirmed this episode saying this episode was just to draw the attention of the public as Maoists had had their bandh call for Monday. About the timing of this episode, he said it could be around 12 to one last night.
He said the tower was under construction or erection. The Maoists then went back the same route from where they had come. Police have registered a case. Investigation is on.
