A 50 year old man identified as Anjani Kumar Sinha has been shot at in the occipital area of his head this afternoon today. SDPO Surjit Kumar said the victim is said to be associated with the motor parts and used to come to Daltonganj off and on from Ranchi ostensibly for business of motor parts etc here in Daltonganj.
This Saturday afternoon he was shot at, said the SDPO. Motive behind the shoot out is yet to be found out. However sources said Sinha has been shot at with aim and design as he received bullet injury at the junction of the brain and the spinal cord. The killer wanted him to die not the next day, said sources.
Civil surgeon Palamu Dr Anil Kumar said a team of doctors including him examined him in the Medinirai medical college hospital in Daltonganj.
He has a bullet wound in his occipital area. Entry of the bullet is visible but not the exit, said the civil surgeon. The victim is in critical condition. He has been put on blood transfusion.
A team of doctors is monitoring him and once he is found stable enough to travel by ambulance, he will be rushed to the RIMS Ranchi, added the civil surgeon.
