In a shocking incident, an 18-year-old girl alleged that her uncle has been sexually exploiting her for the last six months at her house in New layout under Sitaramdera police station area. The victim has lodged an FIR with the Sitaramdera police station, leading the police to register a case of rape against the accused identified as D Pal.
As the case got registered, a team of police officers led by assistant sub-inspector of police Sangita Kumari raided the accused house at Baradwari, but the accused went missing.
Pal, who is about 50-year-old, is the victim’s uncle in relation and lives at Baradwari along with his wife and children. Sources informed that he developed physical relation with the victim. The girl’s father is lodged in Ghaghidih Central Jail since the past seven months after being arrested in a case related to monetary transaction.
According to the police, the accused would visit the girl’s house, as her father was arrested, he promised her family that he would get him released by obtaining bail from the court.
“He took undue advantage by promising that he would help the victim’s father in getting bail and gradually developed relation with her. Six months ago, the accused had developed the physical relation and had been exploiting the girl ever since,” said a relative of the victim.
Officer-in-charge, Sitaramdera, Sunil Kumar Chowdhury said that they are investigating the incident and have sent the victim to the MGM Medical College and Hospital for a medical examination for confirmation of the rape. The officer-in-charge said soon after registering the case, the police had raided the house of the accused, but he is absconding.
“After investigation we came to know that the victim revealed to police that her uncle has been making false promises. After she realized the truth she decided to speak to the police,” said the police official.
