Violence erupted today between two groups at Kureshi Muhalla under town police station in Giridih here over business property dispute in which one person was killed and over a dozen were injured, forcing authorities to rush in more force to maintain law and order, police said.
According to police, there was a business property dispute between Abdul Majid and one Afftab. "Today, after heated argument, two groups clashed over possession of land. They pelted stones and attacked with traditional weapons at each other, during which a bhujali attacked from the one group side hit 60-year-old Abdul Mazid Kureshi, who died on the spot," SDPO City Jit Wahan Oraon said.
Around a dozen people from both the sides also suffered injuries, who were admitted to different hospitals and other private Nursing home in Giridih. After the clash, senior police officers reached the spot, and deployed additional force and local police officials to prevent spread of violence.
