Ranchi Police arrested Vimal Tirkey alias Raghu Tirkey on Tuesday for killing a six year old girl Anisha Kacchap, who was allegedly taken away to the paddy fields with an intention of rape on July 5 at Dipatoli village under Jaganathpur Police Station. Talking to the media persons at his office SP City Aman Kumar said that Tirkey was a regular visitor to the house of Bablu Kacchap, father of the girl, for consuming country made liquor prepared by him and was acquainted to all the family members very well.
“During the interrogation, Tirkey admitted that he had killed the girl after making an attempt to rape her as she started crying loudly as soon as he put down her clothes. Tirkey got scared and strangulated her to death with her frock and left her there in the paddy filed where he had taken her with an intentions to rape on the behest of giving biscuits to her,” said SP City Aman Kumar. Remarkably, Tirkey again went to Kacchap’s house and asked him whether he got any information regarding his daughter after taking liquor from there, he added.
Kumar said that Tirkey had also made attempts to rape a girl earlier some 4-5 years back and was spared by the people after warning him.
According to the statement recorded by Tirkey, he was a regular visitor to the girls place and was acquainted to all the family members. After taking liquor at Kacchap’s house, he went to the nearby mobile recharge shop and brought recharge coupons from there and sat nearby to recharge his mobile.
“Meanwhile, the girl after buying some household articles came to him and insisted to buy her biscuits. He asked her to come back after putting the articles brought by her to her home, but she came from the midway and again insisted her to buy biscuits for her,” said SP City Aman Kumar. After the girl came back, he took her to the paddy fields on the outskirts of the village and started putting her clothes down but the girl started crying loudly which made Kacchap scared and he tried to calm her down but she started crying more loudly following which he put her frock on her mouth to stop her crying but the girl became unconscious, said the SP City.
Taking advantage of the rain, Tirkey ran away from the place leaving the girl in the field. Tirkey again went to Kacchap’s house at around 11:30 pm to take stock of the situation.
