A 30-year-old man belonging to Jharia died due to drowning in Khijuria pond here on Monday evening. The deceased was working at SK Coffee House in Gomia for the last six days only.
According to the information, 30-year-old Bittu Singh, son of Inder Singh, has died due to drowning at Khijuria ahra pond located near Palihari Gurudih Panchayat in the limits of Gomia block.
Ahmed Ali Khan, assistant sub-inspector of Gomia police station, reached the spot with the other forces and sent the deceased to the local community health center, where the doctors declared him dead after investigation.
At the same time, the police took the body in possession and sent it to the sub-divisional hospital Tenughat for autopsy.
It is said that the deceased used to work in SK Coffee House located in Gomia More and had gone to bathe in the pond at around 12 o'clock in the day on 7th November, where he died due to drowning in deep water.
Seeing him drowning in the pond, some women made a hue and cry. Due to the commotion by the women, the nearby residents took him out by jumping into the pond, but by then he had died.
