A 50-year-old man allegedly ended his life by jumping before a goods train near Bokaro Thermal Railway Station in Bokaro district, GRP, Gomia said on Saturday. The incident came to light on Friday night after the decapitated body of the victim, who hailed from Kathara area in the district, was found lying on the tracks, police said.
According to police, although the motive behind his extreme step was not yet known, the deceased, Bachan Singh, an employee of CCL, who was performing B-shift in CCL project in Kathara area. Singh had left his office at 6 pm and reached at Bokaro Thermal Railway Station and was waiting for train. At around 9 pm a goods train was crossing the station and he suddenly jumped in front of the train.
GRP sources said that a case of U/D was registered and his body was sent for post-mortem.
"Police found that the victim's head was lying on the one side of the track, while the torso on the other side. When we checked his mobile phone, we found that he had identity card which was briefed that he belongs to Kathara area, the officer said.
