PNS

The mall owners from across the State gathered in the State Capital on Friday to raise their voice collectively to get approval from the State Government for opening their malls in their respective areas.

The mall owners urged the Government to give nod to open their mall by saying that they are incurring huge losses due to closure and now there is a question on their sustenance.

The malls have been closed since  announcement of lockdown on March 24. The State Government had said that decision to not allow the malls to resume operations was taken in view of a spike in  number of Covid-19 cases in the State.

Addressing a press meet, Federation of Jharkhand Chambers and Commerce and Industries (FJCCI) president Kunal Azmani said that opening of the malls would not increase cases of Corona infection.During press meet, many mall owners from Bokaro, Dhanbad, Jamshedpur and other districts also urged  Government to take a decision on opening  mall."Around 90 per cent of business establishments were opened in State since unlock 1.0. In factories, in which thousands of people are working, but still 10 per cent of the business sector was closed, in which mainly malls are there. There are outlets of many companies in malls, which are incurring losses due to closure. Apart from the mall owners, shopkeepers running their shops in malls are finding it difficult to bear  expenses of their staff salaries, bank loans, maintenance and others," said Azmani.
